Foremost Agencies, a family-owned Insurance brokerage In Foremost, Alberta, was founded in 1983 by Felix and Wendy Ott with a vision to create a business that could be passed down through generations. Felix’s mission was always to provide clients with peace of mind, making them feel valued and well-protected. In 2011, his children, Brock and Ashli, joined the business, fulfilling Felix’s vision of a family enterprise. Over 42 years later, Foremost Agencies continues to prioritize client care, offering reliable coverage for homeowners, auto, farm, commercial, and more.

Our History

1983

Foremost Agencies was founded in 1983 when Felix and Wendy Ott, along with Wendy’s brother Robert King, purchased Foremost Realty & Insurance from Mel Gaydos. At that time, Felix was joined by Myrna Kuehl, and together they managed the business through its early years.

1989

On April 1, 1989, seeking to expand the agency’s reach and services, Felix acquired Griffiths Agencies from Pete and Judy Griffiths. With this growth, the team would be required to expand. Over the years, Foremost Agencies steadily built its reputation by focusing on what matters most: the customer. As the business evolved, it also grew to include Alberta Registries/Motor Vehicles and Alberta Treasury Branch services, operating under the umbrella of Forinsco Holdings Ltd. On November 1, 1997, Felix and Wendy bought out Robert King’s share of the business.

1999

In 1999, with the need for more space, Felix purchased the TransAlta building at 210 Main Street. This new location allowed for further growth and service expansion. While the building itself has seen numerous changes over time, the pride and dedication within its walls remain constant.

Present

Foremost Agencies continues to serve southern Alberta from its 210 Main Street location, with a dedicated team offering professional Insurance services. As Felix Ott begins a gradual transition into retirement, he proudly passes leadership to his children, Brock and Ashli, fulfilling the vision he and Wendy shared. Brock and Ashli are committed to carrying on the legacy of personalized service, strong client relations, and community involvement built over the past 40 years.
